RPG Dice Roller
Overview
RPGDiceRoller is a small but usefull Dashboard widget for your Mac, that can be used e.g. by game masters / dungeon masters of a pen & paper role playing group, to have the most important skills (or however this might be called in your specific game) of the important non-player characters readily available.
Configuration
Each "card" has a title and a list of name+dice pairs with a button that produces a random value as if the given dice were thrown. Dice can consist of any combination of nDm and numbers, added or substracted, e.g. 2d4-1 (throw two 4-sided dice and substract one from the sum), d8+2d10+3 (throw one 8-sided die and two 10-sided dice and add three to the sum), ... .Additionally, you can set a color for each card.
License
RPGDiceRoller is distributed under a MIT free software license (see for example on Wikipedia). Essentially that means that you may use the software and its source code quite freely.Download and Installation
Version 1.0: RPGDiceRoller_1.0.zip (288 KB)Download the zip-file and double-click it to unpack. Then double-click the resulting widget file to install.
What might be missing
- Sometimes it might be nice to add more than 5 "skills"
- Different modes for different RPG's (e.g. open rolls, non-summing roll styles)
